Our Tanzania Lion Safari Itinerary
Get excited for the adventures ahead and explore our itinerary for Tanzania's astounding lion safari tour.
Day 1: As you touch down in Tanzania and enjoy your private transfer to Arusha - you’ll get acquainted with your very own BornWild guide and enjoy a welcome drink on arrival. Savor your first Tanzanian dinner and learn about your up and coming trip with your personal guide.
Day 2: Get ready - for our adventure begins! Exciting times lay ahead as we experience one of the most beautiful lakes in Africa - Lake Manyara and embark on the most unique adventure - Tanzania’s Treetop Walkway to observe wildlife with a birds-eye-view from the tops of the trees. After our sky-high adventure, we will hit the road and travel to the famous Ngorongoro Crater.
Day 3: Welcome to one of the 7 Wonders of Africa - The Ngorongoro Crater! Not only will we be observing the Crater’s 65 resident lions but our day will be filled with breathtaking blends of scenery and wildlife coupled with a fascinating historical and cultural element. In the afternoon we will enjoy our private talk with lion conservation organisation - Kope Lion.
Day 4: Enjoy a day of sun-soaked experiences! Our day starts early as we pack up, leave camp and head to the legendary Serengeti. Here, we will witness the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth - The Great Migration. Observing lions and their actions towards the famous stampede is breath-taking and thoroughly captivating. We will also be observing the other fabulous resident wildlife of the Serengeti which consists of elephant, crocodile, zebra, cheetah, leopard, black rhino and so much more!
Day 5: We will awaken at dawn to enjoy our gorgeous sunrise game drive as we depart the Serengeti and head towards the stunning Ndutu Plains. On this game drive we will be tracking lions and watching them come to life in the cool hours of the morning light. In the afternoon we will enjoy an immersive nature walk in the Ndutu Plains where we will learn about wildlife from the bush as well as track lion spoors.
Day 6: Our adventures wouldn’t be a BornWild experience without an spectacular mountain hike. Today we get to hike one of the most sought-after hiking spots in Tanzania - the Olmoti Crater and Munge Waterfalls. After our hike we will head to Nainokanoka where we will enjoy a cultural experience and spend time with the Maasai tribe and learn about their way of life.
Day 7: After an exciting week in Tanzania, it’s time to head back home. As we gather for one last breakfast to say our goodbyes to our fellow explorers - take a moment to reflect on this incredible journey we have experienced in Tanzania. The heart of lion-land.
